Hardness testing

The hardness of a material, a weld or a heat-affected zone is a parameter that can determine the remaining lifetime of a material.

The non-destructive determination of these on-site measurements is possible thanks to the use of portable equipment. The meter used for metals is usually calibrated on the Vickers scale. The values obtained can then be converted into other hardness types (Rockwell, Brinell, etc).
